We are looking for an experienced legal assistant who can help the busy attorneys and paralegals at our law office assist our immigration clients. You’ll be responsible for managing office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and ensuring our legal team is aware of upcoming deadlines. You’ll also assist with preparing legal documents and perform any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Complete legal research as needed under the supervision of attorneys and paralegals
  • Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events
  • Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines
  • Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when requested
  • Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly
Qualifications
  • Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products
  • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs
  • Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills
  • 2–5 years of immigration law experience (remote applicants outside the U.S. must be highly experienced with 5-10 years in the immigration practice area)
  • Strong knowledge of immigration procedures and filing requirements
Compensation

$40,000 – $59,000 per year, commensurate with experience plus performance bonuses
