POSITION SUMMARY:
The Junior Buyer supports the Supply Chain team by providing administrative and purchasing support across a variety of day-to-day activities. Responsibilities include assisting with sourcing and purchase order activities, expediting open orders, conducting supplier and market research, maintaining accurate purchasing information, and supporting communication with suppliers and internal customers. The role will also run and analyze reports to support purchasing activities, supplier performance, inventory management, and other Supply Chain needs.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented with strong technical and analytical skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with sourcing activities, including supplier research, requests for quotation, and collection and organization of pricing and lead-time information.
- Assist with the creation, placement, and management of purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP system.
- Expedite open purchase orders by communicating with suppliers to obtain acknowledgments, confirm delivery dates, identify delays, and obtain updated shipment information.
- Run and analyze purchasing, open-order, inventory, supplier performance, KPI, and other Supply Chain reports to support team priorities and decision-making.
- Utilize Excel and other analytical tools to organize and analyze data, identify trends or discrepancies, and support Supply Chain activities.
- Communicate purchasing and delivery information to internal customers and work cross-functionally with other departments as needed.
- Identify and escalate potential delivery, pricing, inventory, or supplier performance concerns.
- Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing and Supply Chain processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certifications and/or licenses:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- Previous purchasing, supply chain, distribution, or aerospace experience and/or relevant professional certification is a plus but not required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, formulas, and data analysis is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytics and reporting tools is required.
- Experience with ERP and business systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
