Maintenance Engineer PM Shift – The Wurzak Hotel Group

Join us as a Maintenance Engineer PM Shift and help keep our properties running smoothly. This full‑time position is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The Maintenance Engineer performs interior and exterior preventive maintenance and repairs for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The role also responds to engineering service calls, reports emergencies and safety hazards to management, and ensures compliance with all brand standards, policies, procedures and federal, state and local regulations.

• Perform interior and exterior preventive maintenance and repairs, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work.
• Respond promptly to elevator breakdowns, engineering service requests, and other maintenance needs in a courteous and safe manner.
• Use engineering supplies and tools appropriately and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Keep all engineering work areas orderly, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
• Report emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems, and safety hazards to engineering management promptly.
• Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned; participate in task forces and committees as requested.
• Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates.
• Ensure maintenance problems are reported through the proper channels.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
• Any other tasks or duties as requested by management.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
• Experience in a hotel environment (Marriott brand preferred).
• Knowledge of the South Florida market.
• Ability to satisfy the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction.
