Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL – Fort Lauderdale Hotel. Opening in Fall 2025, Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120,000 square feet of event space, new food and beverage options, a Natural Spring inspired full-service spa, and an entertainment plaza with high-end shopping and venues. The hotel will be connected to the Broward County Convention Center and is adjacent to Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale Airport.
Job DescriptionThe Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story property located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, connected directly to the Broward County Convention Center. The hotel offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a rooftop bar, a large pool, spa, fitness center, and over 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Responsibilities- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC equipment.
- Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment in the building including guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms and parking garage.
- Monitor and operate Building Management System (BMS).
- Work on other equipment as needed.
- Maintain correct stock/inventory of HVAC supplies and filers and communicate when replenishment is needed.
- Respond to all requests.
- Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs.
- Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
- Be familiar with Omni's systems and procedures.
- Keep all work areas clean.
- EPA universal licenses are required.
- Previous HVAC maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
- Experience in reading and interpreting schematics.
- General computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel; ability to learn other related engineering programs. Must be organized and mechanically inclined with a strong desire to learn building mechanics.
- Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Ability to interact and communicate with hotel guests.
- Physical ability to move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods.
- Must work indoors and outdoors, including during extreme weather conditions.
- May be asked to be part of other response teams during severe weather events.
- Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.
- Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
- Requires repetitive motion, including the use of handheld and powered tools.
