Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
The Lift Operations Assistant Manager supports the department manager in overseeing daily lift operations and ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality performance. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills to manage personnel, schedules, and interdepartmental collaboration. While marine lift experience is not required, shipyard exposure and operational familiarity are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Assist department management with daily operations, including employee scheduling, task assignments, and performance oversight
- Support departmental administrative functions as needed
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements
- Estimate labor, materials, and time required for assigned jobs
- Coordinate with naval engineer to execute haul and launch operations according to approved docking plans
- Ensure departmental work meets or exceeds established quality standards
- Lead, motivate, and support employees through respectful communication and collaboration
- Act as a liaison between customers, management, and internal departments
- Coordinate haul-outs and launches with multiple departments
- Be present and/or on-call for haul and launch operations as required
- Ensure all equipment is operational, properly maintained, and routinely inspected for safety and performance
- Plan and organize departmental goals, managing labor utilization and workflow efficiency
- Promote clear, timely communication to ensure all employees have the information needed to perform their duties
- Develop and implement long‑term departmental goals, adjusting plans as conditions change
- Coach, mentor, and support employee development and training opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process and procedure enhancements
- Follow company, industry, and best practices related to safety, equipment uses, PPE, and reporting
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred
- Shipyard experience or familiarity strongly preferred
- Familiarity with commercial or heavy cranes preferred
