Job SummaryThe Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules to meet demand while ensuring efficient use of resources. This role involves collaboration with various departments to manage inventory levels, production capacities, and workflow processes to achieve production goals. This position requires keen attention to detail, knowing where every part is in and out of the facility, including in transit.
Key Responsibilities- a. Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- b. Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, resource availability, or production delays.
- a. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work in process, and finish goods to ensure optimal stock levels.
- b. Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials required for production.
- a. Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and operations teams to align production plans with business objectives.
- b. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding production status, potential issues, and changes to schedules.
- a. Analyze production capacities and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of products.
- b. Identify potential bottlenecks and work with the operations team to implement solutions.
- a. Utilize ERP, Power BI and/or plan software to analyze production data and generate reports on performance metrics.
- b. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data analysis.
- a. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the production planning function.
- b. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- a. Ensure that production processes comply with company policies and procedures, safety standards and quality requirements.
- b. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any issues related to production quality.
- a. Provide training and support to team members on production planning tools and processes.
- b. Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and problem solving.
