Meat Trimmer

Halperns Steak & Seafood is hiring a Meat Trimmer in Ft Lauderdale, FL. The role involves preparing raw meat materials, trimming to customer specifications, and ensuring high-quality cuts for orders.

Prepares raw material, trimming to customer specifications, to be cut for orders.

• Works with supervisors and production managers to schedule production.
• Cleans and trims carcasses for future processing.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and removes them.
• Separates meats and byproducts into specified containers and seals containers.
• Uses knives, cleavers or other equipment to perform trimming.
• Weighs meats and tags containers for weight and contents.
• Reduces processing costs while cutting and sizing portions accurately with good yields and meeting customer specs.
• Follows the company’s detailed product specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to trim various cuts of beef, pork, lamb and veal accurately and timely.
• Follows the company’s Quality Control procedures.
• Ability to problem‑solve in terms of trimming and product substitutions.
• Can work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure, challenging environment.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
