We have an immediate opening for an advanced practice provider, physician associate, or nurse practitioner in a fast-paced private neurosurgery practice.

  • Hours of operation are typically 8:30 am-4:30PM Monday through Friday; however, it varies depending on our patients' needs.

Position Overview
  • The advanced practice provider practices as a direct patient healthcare provider under the supervision of a physician.
  • They work with patients and their families to coordinate the delivery of care.
  • This includes but is not limited to the assessment, diagnosis, and evaluation of clients throughout the established plan of care.
  • The advanced practice provider shall obtain health histories and perform physical examinations, order appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment regimens, and provide patient, family, and staff education as needed.
  • The advanced practice provider will practice within the guidelines of the Florida of Medical Examiners and perform other duties as assigned.
Position Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to
  • Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. Interprets and correlates subjective and objective data. Formulates a differential diagnosis and a working diagnosis.
  • Be able to perform as the first assistant on all neurosurgical procedures to include craniotomies, spinal procedures, and peripheral nerve cases. Conduct hospital rounds on all patients including intensive care units, write orders, progress notes, perform history and physicals, order appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests such as MRIs, Myelograms, Cat Scans, and other radiographic studies as indicated.
  • Examines new clinic patients as well as follow-ups and completes thorough history and physical examination that is problem-oriented for neurosurgical conditions.
  • May prescribe medication for the disease of the brain, central nervous system, spinal cord, peripheral nervous systems within his or her scope of practice, under the supervision of the supervising physician. Refers/presents cases to the supervising physician.
  • Providing a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Effectively interacts with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare workers.
  • Participate in the insurance authorization process.
  • Demonstrate a high level of flexibility to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
  • Provide educational consultations.
  • Must react calmly in emergencies and make appropriate and timely decisions.
  • This position requires travel to all our locations (Delray Beach, Lake Worth, Palm Beach Gardens, Stuart, Hollywood, Boca & if necessary, hospitals and surgery centers).

Education
  • Degree in an accredited program.
  • Completed an educational program for physician assistants approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant or its predecessor or successor organization.
Licensure and Certification
  • Current licensure with Florida Board of Medical Examiners in good standing to practice is required.
  • Current state and federal DEA registration is required.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the GHS Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date. BLS Recertification is required every two years. ACLS preferred.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Willing to assist in surgical procedures.
  • Have at least one (1) year of orthopedic spine, neurosurgical clinical, or pain management experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
