Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment in a Level I trauma and stroke facility in Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience and an active FL or Compact RN license.
Responsibilities- ICU setting serving as a primary trauma and stroke unit
- Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required on an as-needed basis
- Epic EMR experience required;
Cerner experience preferred - 13-week assignment
- Provide critical care nursing to trauma and neurological ICU patients
- Smoke-free facility
- COVID vaccination proof required; declinations are not accepted
- Pass/fail EKG and basic arrhythmia testing required prior to start; must score 100% in lethal rhythms and pass overall with a minimum 70% score
- Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but will be considered at a lower pay rate
- Charge RN experience and Neuro ICU background are preferred qualifications
- Active FL or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute and chronically ill patients
- Level I trauma experience required; 3–5 years preferred
- Trauma and neuro ICU experience required
- Degree must be from an accredited school or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON), with at least 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
- Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and ventilator/BiPAP/CPAP management
