Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I Trauma facility in South Florida, requiring 3-5 years of Level I Trauma ER experience and an active FL or Compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center hospital
- Trauma Bay care included, requiring independent management of Level I trauma patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assigned area
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00am–7:30pm
- Every other weekend required
- Epic EMR used; prior experience required
- 13-week contract
- Provide emergency nursing care including management of Level I trauma patients in the Trauma Bay
- Smoke-free facility
- Proof of vaccination status required; declinations are not accepted
- Basic Arrhythmia assessment is pass/fail; if the lethal rhythm section is not passed on the first attempt, a retake dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 24 hours and passed with an overall Angoff score of 83% or higher, 100% in the lethal rhythm section, and 83% in all other sections
- A study guide and tips to help prepare for the arrhythmia assessment are available through the facility's online orientation portal
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are eligible to apply
- Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (both via AHA), TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- 3-5 years of Level I Trauma ER experience required
- Must be able to function independently caring for Level I trauma patients in the Trauma Bay
- Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) with at least 2 years of consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
- Prior Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia assessment
