DescriptionPosition
Purpose:
An Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care, education, and support to patients with cancer or at risk for it, working in cancer centers or private practices. Key duties include assessing patient health, administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy, managing side effects, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and providing emotional support to patients and families.
- Treatment Administration:
Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and supportive medications. - Assessment & Monitoring:
Monitor vital signs, manage treatment side effects, and assess physical/emotional status. - Patient
Education:
Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and symptom management. - Care Coordination:
Act as a liaison between patients and oncologists/specialists. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and care plans. - Support:
Provide compassionate care and emotional support throughout the treatment journey.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelors is required.
Previous medical oncology experience in an acute care facility.
Licensure/Certification- ONS Chemo Biotherapy course on hire or within 6 months of hire required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- Current BLS Certification Required - AHA.
