The Stroke and Neurointerventional Registered Nurse serves as the clinical expert supporting the stroke program and Neurointerventional services through patient education, staff education, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This role promotes evidence-based stroke care, supports optimal patient outcomes, and assists with coordination of care for patients requiring advanced stroke interventions. Holy Cross Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neuroscience team as a Stroke & Neurointerventional RN.
This position works closely with the stroke team, neurointerventional physicians, nursing teams, and multidisciplinary partners to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence‑based care for patients experiencing acute stroke.
- Educate staff regarding stroke procedures, assessments and charting in Epic
- Conduct in‑services as needed
- Conduct New Hire orientation (ED, ICU, Telemetry, observation unit)
- Maintain ongoing competencies for staff
- Participate in Skills Fairs
- Review currently online educational courses and assign to staff annually
- Participate in and assist in preparation of biannual TJC surveys
- Conduct live training when needed
- Collaborate closely with neurointerventional physicians, stroke neurologists, emergency department staff, inpatient nursing teams, and ancillary services to optimize stroke care.
- Support coordination and communication for patients requiring neurointerventional procedures, including workflow management for emergent stroke interventions.
- Assist the neurointerventional team with patient preparation, care coordination, follow‑up needs, and multidisciplinary communication as appropriate.
- Maintain current knowledge of stroke guidelines, neurointerventional advances, and neuroscience best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
BSN required with Specialty Certification preferred. Licensure:
Current Florida RN License. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and knowledgeable neuroscience nurse with experience in stroke care, patient education, clinical coordination, and a passion for improving outcomes for patients with neurological conditions. Must receive SCRN certification within 6 months of hire.
