Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Educator at Mease Dunedin Hospital assesses, develops, implements, and leads educational activities designed to grow, maintain, and improve the professional competence of clinical team members. Serving as a key resource for nursing onboarding and professional development, this role leads New Hire Nursing Orientation and oversees the Volunteer Nurse Program. Through innovative education, mentorship, and lifelong learning opportunities, the educator helps nurses build confidence, strengthen clinical expertise, and thrive throughout their careers while advancing Bay Care's mission of clinical excellence and empowering team members to Make the Difference every day

Your Role Within the Team:

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate New Hire Nursing Orientation programs
• Lead educational initiatives that support the transition of newly hired nurses into clinical practice
• Coordinate and oversee the Volunteer Nurse Program, including onboarding, education, and ongoing support
• Assess learning needs and develop educational programs that promote clinical competence and professional growth
• Facilitate classroom, simulation, and hands-on learning experiences
• Serve as a resource for nursing staff, leaders, and interdisciplinary team members regarding education and professional development opportunities
• Support evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational learning initiatives
• Partner with nursing leaders and stakeholders to ensure a consistent and engaging onboarding experience
• Act as a positive change agent by supporting communication, engagement, and practice improvement
• Perform Registered Nurse functions and other duties as assigned, as needed

Qualifications:

Required

• BSN with 3 years of clinical experience
• Current Registered Nurse licensure
• Acute care nursing experience

Preferred

• Professional organization certification
• ANPD certification
• Experience in nursing education, staff development, precepting, or mentoring
• Experience facilitating orientation, onboarding, or professional development programs
