Primary Purpose

In collaboration with senior research faculty and personnel, participate as a skilled individual contributor on one or more research projects in a specialized area.

Essential Job Functions
  • Conduct research in area of expertise, writing results for inclusion in broader research projects; design and apply scientific and numerical models; oversee development of data collection instruments and monitor data integrity.
  • Design instrumentation, theoretical models, equipment or other vehicles for data gathering and analysis.
  • Investigate, modify, and apply new procedures, techniques or applications of technology, including the use of radioactive materials, and integrate new findings in the field of study.
  • Review and critique reports and analyses of other researchers, and conduct ongoing, periodic and final analyses of data using specialized techniques and programming.
  • Write and collaborate with other researchers on manuscripts, abstracts and other publications of research findings; may present results at professional meetings and other forums.
  • Collaborate on long‑range plans for projects/programs, acting as an expert in a specialized area.
  • May be responsible for administrative, financial, personnel and planning aspects of the project, and may oversee researchers and staff engaged in day‑to‑day operations.
  • May administer programs for visiting scholars, researchers and fellows.
  • May collaborate on new curricular offerings and course instruction.
  • May lead research and project committees.
