Laboratory Technician

Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a hands-on Laboratory Technician to support both laboratory and warehouse operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will act as a versatile utility team member, contributing to plasma processing, equipment operation, inventory control, and packaging support. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller team setting, enjoys variety in daily tasks, and consistently follows established processes with strong focus and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

* Label empty tubes accurately and efficiently to support plasma processing workflows.

* Scan plasma using a scan gun to ensure proper tracking, identification, and documentation.

* Cut the tops off plasma bottles safely and consistently in preparation for further processing.

* Transfer plasma into other bottles using a funnel while maintaining cleanliness and preventing contamination.

* Support general laboratory activities, including sample handling, pipetting, and wet chemistry tasks as needed.

* Assist with quality control and quality assurance activities, including QC testing, inspection, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

* Contribute to analytical chemistry and diagnostic tasks, such as titrations and other basic laboratory techniques, under established protocols.

* Maintain accurate records of samples, tests, and inventory to support traceability and compliance.

* Assist with inventory management, including tracking, organizing, and replenishing lab and warehouse materials.

* Support packaging and warehouse operations as needed, ensuring materials are prepared and staged correctly.

* Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.

* Collaborate with team members across multiple functions and adapt to changing priorities in a small-company setting.

Essential Skills

* Science background through academic education or professional experience.

* Experience working in a small company or startup environment with exposure to multiple functions.

* Comfort working with a mix of laboratory tasks and non-laboratory responsibilities.

* Experience with inventory management in a laboratory, warehouse, or similar environment.

* Strong focus and attention to detail when handling samples and following procedures.

* Ability to consistently follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and established workflows.

* Comfort handling plasma and other biological samples in a controlled environment.

* Ability to perform basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, wet chemistry, and titration.

* Familiarity with quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) concepts in a laboratory setting.

* Ability to use a scan gun or similar scanning equipment for sample tracking.

* Strong adaptability and willingness to support wherever needed within the operation.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* background or exposure to chemistry, analytical chemistry, or chemical handling.

* Experience in biology, microbiology, or related life sciences.

* Familiarity with in vitro diagnostics (IVD) environments or diagnostic testing workflows.

* Experience with inspection and diagnosis activities in a laboratory or production setting.

* Understanding of laboratory quality control testing processes and documentation practices.

* Comfort working with samples and performing routine laboratory inspections.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to support a small, cross-functional team.

Work Environment

The role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced laboratory and warehouse environment with a strong emphasis on process consistency and quality. You will work closely with a small team and have exposure to multiple operational functions, including plasma processing, laboratory testing, inventory management, and packaging support. The position follows a day shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will use standard laboratory equipment such as funnels, pipettes, and wet chemistry tools, as well as warehouse tools like scan guns for inventory and sample tracking.

The environment requires adherence to standard operating procedures and safety protocols, including appropriate laboratory attire and protective equipment, to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Davie, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
