Processes Member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading and offering several types of membership products, scanning merchandise, and accepting various forms of payments. Provides excellent member service in an efficient and productive manner. Maintains the overall cleanliness of the front-line department. Supports the application of club policies, procedures and compliance. Acts with honesty and integrity and leads with the member in mind to address all concerns and to escalates concerns as appropriate.

Ensures a safe and positive environment for our members and each other, while embracing inclusion and diversity, working collaboratively, and focusing on teamwork and goal achievement.

Members are responsible for delivering service excellence through all points of contact, resolving and de‑escalating member concerns, ensuring a safe and positive environment, and maintaining a daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards (GAA, Fast Friendly Full Fresh Clean). Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily, with commitment and pride.

Daily tasks include managing self‑checkout and scan and pan lanes, assisting members with operations and technical difficulties, maintaining cashier productivity expectations, and performing general housekeeping duties. Flexibility to work in other departments as needed is required, with regular, predictable, full attendance considered essential.

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.

Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces. There may be a need to occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance. Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.

There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non‑discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $16.00.
