Guest Experience and Shop Associate

Sourdough Society is an elevated artisanal bread shop with an unexpected twist: it also serves as the discreet entrance to Avant Gallery, creating a unique destination where food, art, design, and hospitality intersect.

We're looking for a polished, personable, and detail-oriented individual to help manage the day-to-day experience of Sourdough Society. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with customers, maintaining a beautifully presented retail environment, and representing a premium brand with warmth and professionalism.

This is primarily a
hospitality and retail position
, with opportunities to assist with gallery operations, special events, and social media and content creation.

Sourdough Society brings a contemporary approach to the neighborhood bread shop, offering small-batch artisanal sourdough in a highly curated environment. Located at the entrance to Avant Gallery Boca Raton, the concept blends hospitality, design, and contemporary art to create an experience that extends beyond traditional retail.

Since 2007, Avant Gallery has been defined by its exciting and forward-thinking program - known for its emphasis on accessibility, innovation, and market responsiveness. Representing a global roster of established and early-to-mid-career contemporary artists, Avant has become a leading force in the evolving art landscape.

• Welcome customers and provide knowledgeable, attentive service
• Assist with daily bread and caviar sales, packaging, merchandising, and point-of-sale transactions
• Maintain an organized, polished, and elevated shop environment
• Learn the bread selection, ingredients, flavors, and availability to confidently assist customers
• Monitor inventory and communicate daily product needs with the team
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Maintain displays and ensure products are presented according to brand standards
• Build relationships with regular customers and help create a welcoming neighborhood presence
• Assist with special events, private gatherings, gallery openings, and collaborations
• Help guide guests between Sourdough Society and the adjoining Avant Gallery when appropriate
• Provide general support to the gallery team, including greeting visitors and assisting during events
• Occasionally capture photo and video content for social media and support Sourdough Society and Avant Gallery's digital presence

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Professional, polished, and comfortable interacting with a wide range of clientele
• Experience in hospitality, upscale retail, specialty food, luxury retail, or a similar customer-facing environment
• Highly organized, dependable, and attentive to detail
• Ability to maintain a clean and visually elevated retail environment
• Comfortable learning about artisanal bread and communicating product information to customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to multitask in a small, fast-moving environment

• Experience in a bakery, café, specialty food shop, boutique, luxury hotel, luxury retail, or hospitality setting
• Interest in food, design, contemporary art, or culture
• Basic familiarity with Instagram, Canva, photography, or content creation
• Experience assisting with events or private client experiences

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Boca Raton.

Candidates must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings for events.
