Play Street Museum Winter Garden is a clean, upscale, educational children’s museum designed for children ages 8 and under. Through imaginative play and hands-on learning, we create memorable experiences for children and their families.

The Lead Play Assistant helps lead weekday museum operations, with a focus on welcoming guests, supporting open play sessions, facilitating enrichment activities, and keeping the museum ready for each group of families. This role helps coordinate fellow Play Assistants during shifts and serves as a point of contact when the owner is not on the floor.

• Welcome families, assist with check-in, and explain museum activities and guidelines.
• Help guests feel comfortable and engaged throughout their visit.
• Facilitate scheduled enrichment activities, crafts, and featured experiences.
• Support the flow of each open play session, including guest transitions and timely resets.
• Respond to guest questions and concerns, escalating issues to the owner when needed.
• Answer phone inquiries and assist with retail and craft transactions.

• Help coordinate Play Assistants’ tasks during weekday shifts.
• Support opening and closing procedures.
• Prepare materials and spaces for enrichment activities, crafts, and upcoming sessions.
• Keep exhibits, toys, and common areas clean, organized, and ready for guests.
• Lead sanitizing and reset work between play sessions.
• Monitor supplies and communicate replenishment or maintenance needs.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Assist with birthday parties or special events when scheduled.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position is primarily a weekday role
. Availability during weekday museum hours is required. Occasional weekend or event shifts may be available based on business needs.

• Starting pay of $17.00 per hour
• Opportunity for future wage increases based on performance and leadership
• Eligibility to participate in birthday party tip distributions when assigned to qualifying party shifts, in accordance with company policies and applicable wage and hour laws

Preferred:

• Experience working with young children
• Experience leading activities, teaching, hosting events, or working in a guest-facing role
• Experience helping coordinate a small team

Required:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to engage with children and families in a warm, professional manner
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Ability to work efficiently and independently
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and bend, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds
• Ability to successfully pass a background check
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
