AECOM is looking for a Project Environmental Scientist to work in the Fort Lauderdale office. The role is part of the Remediation Southeast Team and will involve environmental contamination assessments, remediation, plan reviews, and technical report writing in both in‑person and virtual settings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with portions of a broader assignment led by an experienced engineer.
• Support projects in contaminated sediments, soil and groundwater assessment and remediation, environmental compliance, regenerative remediation and sustainability.
• Collect and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures and assist with field data collection.
• Identify discrepancies in results.
• Assist senior staff with oversight of remediation field activities.
• Perform work according to budget and schedule with supervision.

• BA/BS in Environmental Science or related field with 6+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License; must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Master's Degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation.
• 7+ years of experience in an environmental consulting firm.
• OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Willingness to travel, complete field work, and work extended hours when necessary.
• Knowledge of Mid‑Atlantic States environmental regulations and settings.
