Job SummaryWright Worldwide Inc. is seeking dedicated and professional Security Officers to provide safety and protection at a church location. Security Officers will guard their assigned station or personnel inside the sanctuary or in the parking lot, provide access control, patrol the property, monitor for potential threats, and respond to incidents as needed. Additionally, Officers will interact with staff, management, visitors, and local law enforcement.
This role is essential in ensuring the safety of church members, staff and visitors while safeguarding the church's assets and property.
Sundays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM; with some Saturdays and weekday nights (IF NEEDED). Saturday shift may consist of daytime or evening hours or coverage for funerals. The detail is approximately 6‑10 hours weekly. This assignment requires a black, navy or gray conservative suit, tactical gear and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities- Threat Identification – Monitor the premises for suspicious activity or potential threats and respond appropriately.
- Patrol Duties – Conduct regular patrols of the property or assigned stations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Access Control – Monitor and manage access to church facilities, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter designated areas.
- Incident Response – Handle most crisis and emergency situations promptly, providing support to minimize risks and ensure the safety of individuals and property.
- Team Support – Work collaboratively with the Site Lead and other security officers to maintain consistent coverage and effective communication. Maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
- Incident Reporting – Accurately document and report any incidents or issues to the Site Lead in a timely manner. Complete incident reports as required.
- Customer Service – Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor, assisting church members, visitors and staff as needed.
- Property Protection – Prevent theft, vandalism and other forms of property damage by maintaining a vigilant presence.
- Experience – Previous armed experience in security, law enforcement or a related field preferred. Prior experience working in a church or community-based setting is highly desirable.
- Armed Security Experience – 2‑3 years consecutive experience as an armed security officer and an active/valid D & G license.
- Customer Service Experience – 1‑2 years experience in a customer service environment serving the public.
- Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with church staff, members and visitors.
- Flexibility – Availability includes nights, weekends and holidays to meet the church's security needs.
- Valid Driver's License – Required for operating a golf cart or other vehicles as needed for security patrols.
- Uniform/Equipment – Must possess a firearm, full duty belt, tactical pants, vest and a black or navy suit with dress shoes for specific details inside the sanctuary.
- Mobility – Ability to stand, walk and patrol for long periods, both indoors and outdoors.
- Strength and Endurance – Must be physically capable of responding quickly to emergencies and managing potentially challenging situations.
- Background Check – Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, drug testing, physical readiness and professional references. Clean driving record required for insurance purposes.
- CPR Certification – First aid/AED certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Confidentiality Agreement – Must sign a confidentiality agreement to maintain the privacy and security of church members, staff and visitors.
- Comfortable working and relating to personnel and visitors in a religious environment.
- Proficiency in basic security technology such as radios and surveillance equipment.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or in high‑stress situations.
- Strong observation and problem‑solving skills.
- Team player.
Security Officers may work both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions, and must be prepared to address security concerns professionally and efficiently.
