Primary FunctionLeads transportation operations, ensuring safe, humane, and compliant movement and custody of individuals within and between high-security facilities.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise security officers and transportation teams; ensure staffing, training, and shift coverage.
- Oversee intake/release, housing moves, court/medical transports, and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Implement use-of-force, restraints, and vehicle safety policies; review incidents and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with medical, legal, and operations for scheduled moves and special needs populations.
- Maintain fleet readiness, inspections, and preventive maintenance records.
- Prepare reports, KPIs, and audit responses for leadership and accreditation.
- Associate's degree required;
Bachelor's preferred. - 5+ years of detention/corrections or law enforcement experience with 2+ years in supervision.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable record; EVOC or similar preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with federal privacy standards.
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary clearances and credentials required for access to detention facilities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain favorable background investigations.
- Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, resided in the U.S. for 3 years in the past 5 years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must complete all required training.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
- Experience with diverse and high-risk populations.
- Experience with medically complex patients and limited-resource settings.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, or fluency in other languages.
- Has undergone a federal investigation at the level of Tier 2 or higher; has been granted favorable suitability/eligibility and has not had a break in service for more than 24 months.
- Detention center experience.
- Work is performed in a secure detention facility.
- May require evening, weekend, or on-call hours.
- Exposure to emotionally challenging situations.
- Requires physical presence and mobility throughout the facility.
- Participate in drills and emergency responses as assigned.
