This full-time, on-site Security Officer role is based in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale Area. The Security Officer will monitor premises to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access, conducting regular patrols of assigned areas and reporting any irregularities or safety hazards. Responsibilities include controlling access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms and incidents, and documenting observations in detailed reports. The role also involves working closely with clients, visitors, and team members to ensure a safe environment, following all company policies and post orders, and supporting emergency response procedures when needed.
Security Officers are expected to maintain a professional presence, uphold high standards of customer service, and adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements related to security operations.
- Candidates should possess strong observation and situational awareness skills, with the ability to identify and respond promptly to security risks.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, visitors, and team members in a clear, professional manner.
- Candidates should possess basic report writing and documentation skills to accurately record incidents, daily activities, and relevant security information.
- Candidates should possess sound judgment and decision-making abilities, including the capacity to remain calm and follow established protocols during emergencies.
- Candidates should possess physical fitness appropriate for standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods, and for responding quickly when needed.
- Relevant experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is beneficial, along with knowledge of basic security systems and procedures.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; valid state-required security licenses or permits for the Miami-Fort Lauderdale Area are required or must be obtained.
- Candidates should be able to work assigned shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, and pass all background checks and drug screenings in accordance with applicable laws.
