Marine Service Technician Apprentice; Part-Time - Workforce Development

Position Summary

The Marine Service Technician Apprentice role is responsible for maintenance, repair of marine engines, electrical systems, and several types of mechanical components under the supervision of an experienced journey worker, following established standards and guidelines.

• Perform work to ensure the safe and efficient operation of marine vessels and equipment under the guidance of the journey worker,
• Participate and complete training in accordance with established timelines, attend Related Training Instruction (RTI) to enhance technical knowledge and skills,
• Obtain and apply the basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems,
• Assist experienced technicians in the maintenance and repair of marine engines, electrical systems, and other mechanical components,
• Perform routine inspections and diagnostics to identify issues and recommend solutions,
• Learn and apply techniques for repairing and servicing hydraulic systems, pumps, plumbing, and running gear,
• Participate in the installation and testing of marine equipment and systems,
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment,
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inspections performed,
• Collaborate with AMIkids' Team Members to complete projects efficiently and effectively,
• Use tools and equipment properly and ensure they are maintained in good condition,
• Assist in the preparation and painting of marine vessels,
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma, or equivalent,
• Ability to move objects weighing 50+ pounds,
• Valid driver's license or in the process of obtaining.
