Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6 and fiber optic cabling.
- Perform infrastructure cabling for access control systems, IT racks, and cameras.
- Install and program IP security cameras, access points, and IP phones.
- Mount, dress, and maintain network racks and patch panels.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair low voltage systems as required.
- Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Provide documentation of completed work and project updates.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Low Voltage Technician, Structured Cabling Installer, or equivalent role.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems (98V and under).
- Skilled in Cat6 cabling, fiber optics, access control, and security camera systems.
- Familiarity with network racks, AP installation, and VoIP/IP phone systems.
- Must have personal tools and reliable transportation.
- OSHA certification preferred, but not required.
Terms of Work
- 1099 Contractor Position (not W-2 employment).
- Compensation: $18/hr entry level; up to $28/hr with 5+ years verifiable experience.
- Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits.
- Assignments available across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach.
