Cabling Technician

Job Opportunity

Great opportunity for a person with experience installing Category 5e and 6 phone/data cabling, access control and surveillance. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to handle yourself well under pressure. The ideal candidate works well on a team – is able to support others, ask for support when needed, and love accomplishing things that few others could do.

Major duties/functions:

• Phone and computer cabling installer
• Installation of Category 5e/6 low voltage cabling
• Installation of fiber cabling and terminations
• Installation of access control and/or surveillance systems
• Knowledge of tools for installation of above technologies including repair and testing equipment such as Fluke

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of installing low voltage Cat 5e/6 cabling and terminations, familiarity or proficiency with installing fiber
• 1-2 years of experience working with access control and/or surveillance a plus, but not required
• Proficient with Office applications such as email, Word, Excel, etc.
• Proficient with use of service management applications like Connect Wise or Autotask
• Proficient with written and verbal communications skills
• Reliable transportation, Florida driver's license with clean record
• Excellent customer service skills
• Current or past enrollment in technical school or program a plus
• Proficient at problem solving
• Ability to handle high-stress situations and multiple tasks/projects
• Must be 18 years of age
• Fluent written/spoken English, Spanish a plus
• Tools – Must have some of the basic tools required for this line of work
• Safety - must have knowledge and/or training of OSHA and other safety requirements
• Clothing - must have appropriate clothing for job-site work
• Testing - experience working with Fluke Versa testers or Greenlee Fusion splicers a plus

Education:

• High school education required.
• Desired:
  Technical training, BICSI or other certifications a plus
