Position Summary
Penmarc Inspired Spaces, LLC is seeking a Trim Carpenter to install millwork, cabinets, and closet organizers for residential and commercial clients. Working with customer‑selected products, the installer will bring projects to life by creating organized, functional spaces. The Trim Carpenter is hands‑on, managing field service installations of systems including closet shelves, organizers, cabinetry, trim, millwork, renovations, remodels, sheetrock repair, and painting.
Responsibilities include direct customer service through project completion, notifying scheduling of field issues, strategizing to eliminate recurring problems, and maintaining excellence in workmanship and customer service.
- Business Credentials: Maintain all required business licenses and provide a valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) and Workers’ Compensation coverage.
- Transportation Capability: Ability to pick up and deliver 4×8 pallets of product using a van, truck, or trailer.
- Tools & Carpentry
Skills:
Own basic tools used for trim‑level carpentry work. Essential specialty tools such as a HEPA vacuum are required. A skilled craftsman maintains personal tools for efficiency and quality workmanship. - Background Screening: Successfully pass a background check.
- RRP Certification: Preferred RRP Certified or willing to obtain certification within the first month of employment.
- Support all efforts to simplify and enhance customer experience.
- Install custom closets, cabinetry, trim, millwork, and related finishes to meet specifications, ensuring all installations are plumb, level, and securely fastened.
- Perform tasks including trim work, sheetrock repair, light painting, and construction of millwork systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and specifications accurately.
- Measure and cut materials with precision and safety using hand and power tools.
- Adhere to work schedules with punctuality and reliability.
- Collaborate with Market Managers, Scheduling Coordinators, and team members to meet project timelines.
- Complete job tasks, time‑clock entries, and review plans in the proprietary project management system (Cruxos).
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude in all client and team interactions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve onsite issues with the Market Manager and clients.
- Communicate promptly with scheduling and management about job progress or issues.
- Respect the client’s home and keep the work area professional, minimizing disturbance to other areas.
- Represent Penmarc with professionalism and uphold company values in every interaction.
- Be willing and able to travel for project needs, including overnight stays when necessary.
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience.
- Ability to obtain EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Lead Renovator Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Knowledge of general safety practices or OSHA training preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in construction, carpentry, cabinetry, remodeling, and millwork.
- Experience in interior trim, remodels, renovations, shelving, or closet organizers.
- Ability to use hand tools, reciprocating and miter saws, and power tools correctly and safely.
- Ability to read layouts from blueprints and apply basic mathematics.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
- Ability to use dispatching equipment and mobile applications.
- A phone or device with a sufficient data plan to access the proprietary project management system (Cruxos).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation and proof of required vehicle insurance.
- Current knowledge of general safety and construction practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and perform work efficiently with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
