Performs a variety of journey level painting and related maintenance work. Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsRequires one (1) year experience serving a painter apprenticeship program or professional painter experience.
Special Certifications and LicensesPossess and maintain a Florida Class E Driver's License based on the area of assignment.
Preference- Associate's Degree or higher in relevant field
- Airfield Marking Professional (AMP) Certificate
- 1+ years of Airfield Part 139 Painter Experience
- 1+ years of Airfield/Taxiway Painter Experience
- 2+ years of Journey Level Industrial Painter Experience
- 1+ years Maximo Work Order System Experience
The Painter position with the Aviation Department is skilled work in Airfield and taxiway markings, painting of interior and exterior buildings, fixtures, signs and various equipment. Duties involve the application of paint to a variety of surfaces using brush, roller, spray gun and linelazer equipment. Work includes the preparation of surfaces and materials for painting and occasional hazardous work from scaffolding.
Work requires individual skilled performance in accordance with standard trade practices. Assignments are received orally or through written job orders. Work is reviewed while in process and upon completion.
