We are seeking an experienced Crane Operator to safely operate and maintain a variety of cranes and lifting equipment in a busy construction and material handling environment in Oakland Park. In this role, you ensure safe, efficient movement of materials, accurate load handling, and strict adherence to safety regulations while working closely with ground crews and other team members.

• Operate mobile cranes, tower cranes, overhead cranes, and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently for construction and material handling operations.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure cranes and related equipment remain in safe working condition.
• Calculate load weights accurately and apply proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting and movement of materials.
• Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations at all times, maintaining a strong focus on accident prevention.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with ground crews and other construction team members to coordinate lifts and material movements.
• Interpret and follow lift plans, project specifications, and work instructions to complete tasks correctly and on schedule.
• Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, inspections, and safety checks in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor weather conditions and other environmental factors that may impact crane operations and adjust plans as needed.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or near-miss incidents immediately to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with moving materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment when needed.
• Perform general labor tasks related to machine operation, banding, palletizing, and material handling as required.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure proper placement and alignment of loads.

• 2–3 years of proven experience operating various types of cranes, including mobile, tower, and overhead cranes.
• Demonstrated crane operator experience in construction or industrial material handling environments.
• Experience with moving materials using cranes and forklifts, as well as general machine operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current OSHA safety certifications relevant to crane operation and industrial safety.
• Strong understanding of load calculations, center of gravity, and rigging procedures.
• Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for precise load positioning.
• Proven safety record and strong attention to detail in all aspects of crane operation.
• Physical ability to climb equipment, lift materials, and perform thorough equipment inspections.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a coordinated team.
• Knowledge of construction industry practices, terminology, and site safety expectations.
• Experience maintaining detailed operation logs and safety records in a structured format.

• Experience operating overhead cranes and working in industrial shop environments.
• Exp in general labor tasks such as banding, palletizing, and material handling.
• Experience operating forklifts and other material handling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret lift plans, work orders, and project specifications.
• Comfort working with basic hand tools and measuring devices such as tape measures.
• Ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities while maintaining safety and quality.

The shop is an open-air facility covered by sheet metal, and the environment can be loud and dirty at times, typical of heavy industrial and construction operations. The role is based in the Fort Lauderdale area near Prospect Road and Dixie Highway. Appropriate work boots are required as part of the dress code. The position involves occasional use of ladders and lifts, with some climbing required, and requires walking and standing for most of the shift, along with occasional kneeling and stooping.

Some lifting of materials under 50 pounds is required. Hours outside of the scheduled shift may be necessary as workload dictates, which can include weekends, so flexibility is important in this role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland Park, FL.
