Purpose Statement

The Maintenance Technicians role is to maintain the condition of the building, equipment, and tools by utilizing specific skills such as carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, plastering, painting, tiling, etc. that is pleasing and glorifies the Lord. This work is assigned by task through a work order system. The Maintenance Technician carries out the tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager and/or the Maintenance Supervisor.

This person works with facilities department staff, church staff, volunteers, and vendors to accomplish their assigned tasks. They are capable of using a variety of tools and equipment to perform the work. The Maintenance Technician will maintain the condition of properties building, equipment, and tools by utilizing specific skills such as carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, plastering, painting, tiling, etc. Factors to be considered are safety, cost, appearance, and efficiency.

You will:
  • Receive, prioritize, update, and complete maintenance requests made by all church staff and teaching staff as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Perform and follow through with any necessary tasks relating to events, projects, building, moving, construction, or staff needs related to the church, its facility, body, ministry, or outreach
  • Provide general assistance within the facilities department for special events, ministry, outreaches, projects, construction, moves, or other needs related to the church. Assist in church workdays and other volunteer events by serving as a team member or leader, as needed
  • Assist other facilities employees who may require help in completing tasks
  • Perform tasks in a safe manner for yourself as well as the others around you
  • Work from a CMMS system for daily tasks/PM tasks
