HVAC Controls Technician Field-Based Role | $38-$43/Hour Depending on Experience

We’re partnering with a growing building automation and HVAC controls company that is hiring a BAS Controls Technician to support service, programming, setup, troubleshooting, and commissioning work for commercial building systems.
This is a strong fit for a hands‑on controls technician who understands Building Management Systems, HVAC controls, low-voltage wiring, sensors, controllers, and system programming
. The right person can work independently in the field, solve technical problems, and make sure systems are programmed, configured, and running correctly.
- Program, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain Building Management Systems
- Set up and configure BAS/BMS controls, sensors, controllers, and connected devices
- Calibrate sensors and fine‑tune control loops for proper system performance
- Diagnose issues with HVAC controls, automation systems, wiring, and communication networks
- Install, wire, configure, and integrate new control equipment
- Perform system backups, database maintenance, and software updates
- Support system startups, testing, commissioning, upgrades, and expansions
- Troubleshoot low‑voltage wiring, IP‑based networks, and system connectivity issues
- Replace and reprogram sensors, controllers, and control components as needed
- Complete service reports, timesheets, expense reports, and field documentation
- Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and quality field work
- Hands‑on experience with Building Automation Systems, BMS, BAS, or HVAC controls
- Ability to program and set up Building Management Systems
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control circuits, low‑voltage wiring, and IP networks
- Experience with platforms such as Schneider, Tridium, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Trane
, or similar - Ability to use meters, diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organization skills
- Ability to manage multiple service calls, projects, and customer needs
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working in rooftops, mechanical rooms, ladders, and active jobsites
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
- Technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent field experience preferred
- $38-$43/hour depending on experience
