Overview
The position is an OPS (Other Personal Services) role located onsite at one of our Broward County facilities. It requires daily in-office or field work and does not offer paid time off. Health benefits are offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan. Applications must be completed through People First.
Responsibilities- Provide customer service by answering the 954-INSURES line to assist consumers with the Florida Kid Care application process.
- Answer incoming calls, retrieve messages, return calls, and assist with online applications.
- Identify and resolve Florida Kid Care technical issues as requested.
- Serve as the local source of customer service information for community-based organizations and consumers in Broward County.
- Distribute Florida Kid Care materials to community organizations, schools, childcare providers, places of business and civic leaders.
- Mail or hand deliver marketing materials or promotional items as requested.
- Assist in stocking and having readily available large quantities of Florida Kid Care materials (postcards, brochures, posters, applications, promotional items, etc.) for community partners in Broward County.
- Attend community events and provide educational presentations about the Florida Kid Care Program.
- Serve as the local client advocate for families, identifying Florida Kid Care issues and referring them to the appropriate Florida Kid Care Program Office.
- Update database and electronic logs with data for incoming calls, client services, applications submitted, events attended, and materials distributed.
- Collaborate with the outreach team to plan local marketing outreach activities and participate in public relations activities as resources allow.
- Visit Broward County Public Schools to view information helpful for Florida Kid Care enrollment.
- Participate in all communication activities such as conference calls, workgroup meetings, trainings, and presentations provided by the Department and the Florida Kid Care Outreach Program.
- Assist the local advisory committee, the Kid Care Partners Taskforce, in planning and assessing Florida Kid Care outreach activities in Broward County.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal hours in the event of an emergency, including in special needs or Red Cross shelters or other emergency duties.
- Daily in-office or field work; ability to come to the office daily and perform field work.
- Valid driver's license, clean record, access to a car for work, and willingness to drive to multiple sites as required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience over the phone or in person.
- Experience conducting community outreach.
- Able to work evenings and weekends as determined by program needs.
- Experience facilitating community presentations.
- Experience working with Federal Eligibility Programs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience working with social service programs.
- Bilingual, fluent in English/Spanish or English/Creole.
