Fire Cadet
Plantation Fire Department Cadet program is a career development program, aimed for the Fire Service. Young men and woman between the ages of 14 and 18 years old will learn about the Plantation Fire Department and prepare themselves for a career in the Fire Service.
Fire Cadets will complete a training program that will consist of the following:
- First Aid
- CPR
- Firefighter Tactics
- Vehicle Extrication
- Fire Safety
- Train for competitions
- Assist in community events
Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 18 years of age.
Parental approval must be obtained.
School transcripts demonstrating a 2.0 grade point average, or better, must be enclosed with the application.
Copy of Birth Certificate must be uploaded with online application.
Copy of Social Security Card must be uploaded with online application
Health Insurance Card if applicable
Applicant Identification card - (FL Driver's License, Identification Card or Current School )
Parent/Guardian identification Card - ( State issued Driver's License or Identification card )
The applicant must be in good health and without physical condition(s) that will endanger them, or another member of the Fire Department.
The applicant must be of good character and possess good moral habits. Driving records will be considered.
None of the above requirements is intended to be an automatic disqualifier.
Must maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual training as indicated in the bylaws.
Cadet Program Release and Waiver form (PDF)
Must be available to attend bi-weekly meetings on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
Cadet must have transportation to and from the program.
