HID Global is a leader in the government security and strong authentication solutions.  We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern for our team.  This intern could work on one or more of a variety of projects, such as:
* Software user interface design and enhancements – research various user interface frameworks and methodologies that could provide improved user experiences to existing software while minimizing engineering efforts needed.
* Improvements to software test automation infrastructure – add or augment existing software automation tools to provide further improvements to current product quality.
* Build robotic tooling – build devices to simulate human interactions with hardware devices.
* Embedded firmware development – build and improve embedded linux software for specialized security devices.
* Innovation around physical access control systems – design, refine, and implement ideas relevant to the PACS industry or other tooling to assist with the product development process.

** As our Engineering Intern, you’ll support HID’s success by:*
* * Collaborating with developers, test, and other full time engineering personnel.
* Understanding and clarifying software requirements.
* Developing test cases.
* Developing product knowledge.
* Creating scripts, software tools, and potentially hardware tools to assist with automated product testing infrastructure.
* Executing manual and automated tests.
* Assisting with debugging and error case reproduction.
* Documenting product defects and test fixes.
** Your Experience and Background include:*
* * Actively studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar for at least two years.
* Course work involving software development, or other technology-related product development.
* Experience with software development, computer programming, and basics of development environments.
* Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, etc.
* Experience with distributed version control systems (such as Git).
* Ability to clearly describe (verbally and written) technical information.
* Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis skills.
* Exceptional communication skills.
* Strict attention to detail.
* Ability to independently solve problems.
