Senior Software Engineer; Frontend

Cortico’s unique human/machine system is the product of an effort led by Cortico in cooperation with MIT’s Center for Constructive Communication (MIT CCC).

We are looking for a frontend-focused Senior Software Engineer to join our small engineering team. You’ll be working on both our web application and React Native-based mobile app.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

• Serve as an individual contributor specializing in frontend development across web and mobile platforms
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build scalable applications
• Contribute technical expertise to shape architecture and establish best practices for frontend systems

At Cortico, we look at a number of things when setting compensation—like your experience, skills, certifications, training, and what the role needs. Where you land on our range depends on your unique background and experience, as well as where you live. For this role, the estimated pay range is $105,000 – $125,000. • You’re passionate about the problems we’re working on.
• You value sharing knowledge and learning from both technical and non-technical team members.
• You value accountability, equity and transparency in your work style and seek to design these values into the products you build.
• You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, mostly in a frontend role.
• You have a strong foundation in React and React Native.
• You have experience shepherding features from initial concept through implementation and deployment.
• You have a respect for testing, from unit tests to end to end integration tests.
• You care about accessibility and are familiar with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
