The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and the North Perry Airport is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Program Project Coordinator Senior for the Aviation Operations Division. The need currently exists for a dedicated professional to augment the Operations Division Ground Transportation Enforcement team.

Job ResponsibilitiesThis position will be responsible for specialized ground transportation enforcement activities and must have a deep understanding of the State of Florida Statutes, airport and county ordinances, and non-criminal hearing processes. The Program Project Coordinator Senior must have the ability to assist with aviation case files and the ability to determine case validity using ordinances, State Statute, Airport Rules and Regulations, Airport Operating Guidelines and internal procedures along with reviewing Broward County Sun Biz and other databases.
Additionally, the role encompasses numerous specialized projects. The Program Project Coordinator Senior also demands the ability to have a thorough understanding and knowledge base of vendor contracts that impact the specialized area.
This position plans, develops, authorizes, implements, and evaluates programs/projects, activities, and services on a large scale with County-wide impact, prepares reports, and analyzes and interprets data. This position will be heavily involved in conducting research and recommendations for best practices for standard operating procedures (SOPs), county ordinances, citation format changes and technology upgrades. Furthermore, this position may be responsible for supervising direct subordinates and handling all related paperwork, including Kronos, evaluations, among other items.
Works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
This position plans, develops, authorizes, implements, and evaluates programs/projects, activities, and services on a large scale with County-wide impact, prepares reports, and analyzes and interprets data. This position will be heavily involved in conducting research and recommendations for best practices for standard operating procedures (SOPs), county ordinances, citation format changes and technology upgrades, etc.
Daily duties include:
- Drafts policies, procedures, and other documents needed to ensure compliance of State of Florida Statues, Airport and County ordinances, polices and rules that are related to the assigned specialized area.
- Reviews and assists with necessary edits of case files and citations for accuracy of the Airport Operations Agent Senior Ground Transportation section.
- Answering phone calls and emails from the public, ground transportation industry and County regarding questions of the assigned specialized area.
- Responds to airport emergencies, directs use of Aviation Department resources, coordinates with emergency responders, law enforcement, fire and rescue, and other agencies.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements operating procedures related to the routine and emergency operation of the assigned specialized area.
- Performs research and prepares reports as requested on legislation, rules, operational policies/procedures and other factors having an impact on ground transportation and landside operations.
- Issues notices of violations and/or citations for non-compliance with airport rules and regulations, Chapter 2, 8 ½, and 22 ½ of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.
