This is a full-time, on-site Solo OTR CDL-A Driver role based in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale area. The driver will operate company-assigned tractors and dry van or refrigerated trailers on long-haul routes across multiple states, ensuring safe, timely pickup and delivery of freight. Daily responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complying with all DOT and company safety regulations, and maintaining accurate logs and documentation.
The driver will communicate regularly with dispatch, follow route plans, manage hours of service, and handle basic load securement and temperature checks when hauling reefer freight. The role also involves professional interaction with shippers and receivers, caring for equipment, and supporting a positive company image on the road.
- Valid CDL-A license, clean driving record, and ability to meet all DOT medical and safety requirements.
- Proven experience with over-the-road (OTR) driving, including long-haul routes and overnight travel.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe driving practices in varying weather and traffic conditions.
- Ability to conduct thorough vehicle inspections, handle basic troubleshooting, and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Experience operating dry van and, preferably, refrigerated (reefer) trailers, including basic temperature monitoring and load care.
- Effective communication skills for working with dispatch, brokers, shippers, and receivers, and maintaining clear trip documentation.
- Dependable time management, route planning awareness, and willingness to adhere to schedules while prioritizing safety.
- Professional conduct, respect for company policies, and commitment to representing Orange Logistics with integrity.
- Ability to work independently for extended periods, manage fatigue responsibly, and adapt to changing routes or load requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience with nationwide truckload operations is a plus.
