Wärtsilä, a SMART technology company, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our team working for a better future.

The position is permanent, and the location is Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The role is shift‑based and may require overtime and occasional weekend work depending on operational needs.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Support day‑to‑day warehouse operations in Fort Lauderdale, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe handling of materials and spare parts.
  • Work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment with constant activity, supporting inbound, outbound, inventory, and local transportation needs.
  • Interact daily with internal stakeholders, truck drivers, vendors, and occasionally customers, demonstrating a hands‑on mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional under pressure.
  • Report to the Warehouse Manager.
Main Responsibilities
  • Execute inbound and outbound warehouse activities, including receiving, counting, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping materials, as well as loading and unloading trucks and containers.
  • Operate forklifts, hand tools, and power tools safely, ensuring proper handling and movement of goods.
  • Perform visual inspection of goods (inbound, outbound, returns, and claims) and conduct cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records in systems, support local transportation needs, and ensure proper upkeep and housekeeping of the warehouse area.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and deliver high‑quality service to customers.
  • Perform all activities in compliance with safety standards, including risk assessment, and support S1 handling and on‑call duties (24/7) as required.
  • Operate within a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) environment, complying with all regulatory requirements, with additional duties assigned by the line manager as needed.
To Be Successful in This Role, We Expect You to Have Education
  • High school diploma or technical education in logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or operational environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts (typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with one‑hour lunch), including overtime and occasional weekend work when operationally required.

  • Experience working with SAP or other warehouse management systems.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or service warehouse environments.
