FORKLIFT/ORDER SELECTION MACHINE OPERATOR - WAREHOUSE OPPORTUNITY
Kane's Furniture , a trusted furniture retailer serving customers for over 77 years, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Warehouse Associate to join our team. We take pride in delivering quality home furnishings and exceptional service, and our warehouse team plays a critical role in making that happen.
This position is responsible for operating forklifts and order selection equipment to move, load, unload, and accurately pick furniture and related products within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with machinery, and committed to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
The Warehouse Associate will assist in the effective completion of assigned receiving or shipping and other warehouse functions this will include:
- Unload and/or load merchandise off the transfer truck or trailer (Receiving).
- Select product and load onto lifts and prepare for delivery (Shipping) and prior Forklift and/or Order Selection Machine operator experience is HIGHLY
preferred
! - Check transfer paperwork for correct number of pieces.
- Ensure that all goods are appropriately packaged, labeled and tagged before transfer.
- Move materials and finished goods to storage areas or other designated areas.
- Identify, track and resolve errors or discrepancies.
- May load purchases into customer vehicles and follow verification/confirmation procedures as necessary.
- Adhere to all Warehouse safety practices.
- Assisting Clients with Pick-Up Orders.
Kane's Furniture Distribution Center
Required experience and qualifications- Prior Shipping, Receiving, and/or Inventory control experience is highly desired.
- Prior experience with Forklift (sit or stand-up operation) and/or Order Selection machine is HIGHLY preferred.
- This position requires extensive physical strength including but not limited to lifting, bending, use of upper and lower extremities, reaching, walking, heavy lifting, standing, and clear communication and listening skills.
- Ability to effectively operate a scan gun, and read and execute information on reports.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy items (approximately 100lbs or greater).
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate and work well with others in a team.
- Able to take direction and follow through attend to details.
- Ability to work and operate at heights while secured/restrained by safety harness (not afraid of heights).
