Tool Room Inventory Coordinator
The Tool Room Inventory Coordinator manages consumable supplies, company tools, and inventory records to ensure field employees have timely access to the equipment and materials they need. This role focuses on inventory control and administrative tasks rather than hands-on fabrication work. Candidates with an interest in construction, fabrication, or industrial tools are encouraged to apply, and prior industry experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Issue consumable supplies and materials to field employees as needed to support daily operations.
- Track, receive, and maintain inventory levels of tools, equipment, and consumable products.
- Scan tools and equipment in and out using QR code tracking systems or similar technology.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through consistent data entry and use of inventory management software.
- Monitor tool usage, track check-outs and returns, and ensure the timely return of borrowed equipment.
- Conduct routine inventory counts and cycle counts, and reconcile any discrepancies found.
- Organize, label, and maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient tool room environment.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and distributing tools, equipment, and materials.
- Generate inventory reports and update inventory databases as required by management or procedures.
- Communicate with employees regarding tool availability, check-out procedures, and return expectations.
- Support purchasing and inventory replenishment efforts by reporting low stock levels or inventory needs.
- Use RF scanners, barcode scanners, or QR code systems to streamline inventory control processes.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, tool room, logistics, or administrative roles preferred.
- Comfort using computers for data entry, inventory tracking, and basic reporting.
- Experience with QR code scanning systems, barcode scanners, RF scanners, or inventory software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately track inventory and maintain precise records.
- Solid organizational skills to keep the tool room orderly, efficient, and well-structured.
- Professional communication and customer service skills when interacting with field employees and colleagues.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally as part of daily tasks.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or construction and fabrication equipment is helpful but not required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with inventory control processes, including cycle counting and reconciliation.
- Exp in tool crib or tool room operations.
- Exposure to construction, industrial, or field-based work environments.
- Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, or trades-related industries.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and analyzing inventory data.
- Experience working with inventory management systems or similar software platforms.

Work Environment
This position follows a weekday schedule from Monday to Friday, with typical hours from 5:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The role is based in a tool room and warehouse-style environment where you will regularly handle tools, equipment, and consumable materials. You will use computers, inventory management software, QR code systems, RF scanners, and barcode scanners to perform daily tasks. The workspace emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with an expectation of maintaining an orderly tool room.
The physical environment may involve standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally, in a setting that supports construction, fabrication, or industrial field operations. Appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse or industrial setting is expected.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland Park, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
