Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract position, offering a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will contribute to the financial operations of the company by ensuring accuracy in accounting processes and collaborating closely with the entire accounting team.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in managing and analyzing financial data to support business profitability.

- Prepare and review journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Develop and maintain schedules for various accounting tasks.

- Conduct monthly financial analyses to identify trends and provide insights.

- Generate commission statements and ensure compliance.

- Collaborate with team members to manage fixed assets and depreciation processes.

- Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow reporting.

- Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

- Provide support for general ledger maintenance and related accounting activities.

Requirements

- Proven experience in accounting or related financial roles.

- Strong knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return processes.

- Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.

- Excellent analytical skills for conducting monthly financial reviews.

- Experience with fixed asset management and depreciation calculations.

- Ability to perform daily bank reconciliations with precision.

- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
