Pinnacle Dietary Global - Position Summary
The Diet Technician, Registered (DTR) will serve as a per diem nutrition consultant responsible for developing and delivering engaging nutrition seminars and educational presentations for residents, participants, families, and staff in community-based care settings. This role focuses on nutrition education, wellness promotion, and regulatory-supported programming under the supervision or direction of a Registered Dietitian (as required by organization or state regulations).
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop age-appropriate, culturally competent nutrition education presentations and workshops in their facilities
Present nutrition seminars on topics such as:
General healthy eating
Chronic disease prevention and management
Menu education and food choices
Hydration, portion control, and food safety
Seasonal and themed wellness topics
Appropriate nutrition topics of choice as approved by Regional Dietitian
Customize presentation materials based on audience needs, cognitive abilities, and setting
Create PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and educational materials aligned with evidence-based nutrition guidance
Coordinate with facility administrators, activity directors, nursing staff, or program coordinators to schedule sessions
Adhere to state regulations, organizational policies, and scope of practice for DTRs
Document educational sessions as required
Maintain a professional, engaging, and positive presence at all facilities
Current Diet Technician, Registered (DTR) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field
Knowledge of nutrition principles applicable to adults and older adults
Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Comfortable speaking to groups of varying sizes
Ability to work independently in a consultant role and able to travel
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or similar presentation tools
Experience in assisted living, long-term care, group homes, or adult day care settings
Experience providing nutrition education or community-based programming
Familiarity with special populations
Basic understanding of state and federal nutrition regulations in congregate care settings
