Position Summary:
The K-12 Achievement Coach supports teachers and school leaders in delivering high-quality instruction that drives student success. The role partners directly with classroom teachers, building administration, and district leadership to implement best instructional practices aligned with district-wide goals. The Achievement Coach uses data-driven strategies, pedagogical expertise, and collaborative coaching methods to foster professional growth and improve student outcomes.
Instructional
Coaching:
- Provide side-by-side support to teachers through modeling, co-teaching, and classroom observation
- Offer constructive, growth-oriented feedback to refine teaching practices
- Assist teachers in implementing differentiated instruction and formative assessment strategies
Alignment & Implementation:
- Ensure district-adopted best first instructional practices are consistently delivered across K-12 classrooms
- Align classroom strategies with the Portrait of a Graduate and district academic standards
Curriculum & Resource Support:
- Support staff in effectively using district-adopted instructional resources
- Provide guidance on lesson planning, instructional design, and classroom management strategies
Data-Driven Growth:
- Analyze student performance data with teachers to inform instruction
- Identify and support strategies to close achievement gaps
Professional Development:
- Facilitate small-group workshops or Professional Learning Community (PLC) sessions focused on evidence-based instructional strategies
- Support new teacher induction programs, including classroom mentoring and guidance
Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support district initiatives and student achievement
Education:
Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field preferred
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience Demonstrated track record of improving student outcomes Licensure:
Valid Colorado Teaching License required Technical
Skills:
Deep understanding of differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and data-driven decision making Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills Familiarity with 21st-century skills, STEM initiatives, and Project-Based Learning Ability to support and model evidence-based instructional strategies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities; works collaboratively with teachers and building staff Work Environment:
This position primarily operates in classroom and school settings, providing direct support to teachers and students. Collaboration with school leaders and district staff is essential. Typical noise level:
Moderate
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to:
Stand and walk during classroom observations and professional development sessions Sit for planning, data analysis, and meetings Use hands for instructional materials and technology Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and staff Occasionally lift materials up to 25 pounds
