Position Summary:
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Technology/IT Teacher prepares students for careers in computer science, networking, and information technology. The teacher creates a learning environment that supports technical skill development, problem-solving, and career readiness. Courses may include computer programming fundamentals, Microsoft certification preparation, and Cisco networking. The district encourages programs that include robotics competitions, industry-recognized certifications, and technology internships.
- Technology & IT Instruction: Teach computer science, programming, networking, and technology courses. Prepare students for industry certifications such as Microsoft and Cisco credentials. Integrate project-based learning and real-world technology challenges.
- Career Pathway Development: Develop and maintain the Information Technology CTE pathway. Coordinate certification preparation and technology career exploration. Support student participation in robotics competitions and technology events.
- Experiential Learning: Coordinate student internships and technology industry partnerships. Connect students with postsecondary technology education and careers.
- Collaboration & Student Support: Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and staff. Support school initiatives and career planning programs. Participate in professional development and district collaboration.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or related field preferred.
Licensure:
Valid Colorado Teaching License with appropriate endorsement preferred. Industry professionals eligible for Colorado CTE or Adjunct Licensure may be considered.
Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of programming fundamentals and networking systems. Experience with Microsoft, Cisco, or related certification programs. Ability to support robotics and technology competitions. Strong classroom management and instructional design skills.
Work Environment:
This position works primarily in a technology classroom or computer lab environment and may include partnerships with technology organizations and businesses.
