The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Technology/IT Teacher prepares students for careers in computer science, networking, and information technology. The teacher creates a learning environment that supports technical skill development, problem-solving, and career readiness.
Courses may include computer programming fundamentals, Microsoft certification preparation, and Cisco networking
. The district encourages programs that include robotics competitions, industry-recognized certifications, and technology internships
.
- Teach computer science, programming, networking, and technology courses
- Prepare students for industry certifications such as Microsoft and Cisco credentials
- Integrate project-based learning and real-world technology challenges
- Develop and maintain the Information Technology CTE pathway
- Coordinate certification preparation and technology career exploration
- Support student participation in robotics competitions and technology events
- Coordinate student internships and technology industry partnerships
- Connect students with postsecondary technology education and careers
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and staff
- Support school initiatives and career planning programs
- Participate in professional development and district collaboration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or related field preferred
- Valid Colorado Teaching License with appropriate endorsement preferred
- Industry professionals eligible for Colorado CTE or Adjunct Licensure may be considered
- Knowledge of programming fundamentals and networking systems
- Experience with Microsoft, Cisco, or related certification programs
- Ability to support robotics and technology competitions
- Strong classroom management and instructional design skills
This position works primarily in a technology classroom or computer lab environment and may include partnerships with technology organizations and businesses.
