About the RoleThe Account Representative supports Baroid Surface Solutions within Baroid Industrial Products customers throughout the Intermountain Region, primarily Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and Colorado, with additional support across the Mid-Continent and Upper Midwest as business needs require.
This field-based role combines technical sales, business development, and field engineering support to help customers optimize drilling fluid performance across mining exploration, dewatering, water well, PFAS remediation, infrastructure, and construction drilling projects. Working independently, the Account Representative serves as the primary technical and commercial resource for customers, building strong relationships while identifying opportunities to grow the business through exceptional service and technical expertise.
Approximately 75% of the role is field-based, supporting customer operations through product application, technical recommendations, troubleshooting, and training.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, drilling contractors, and mine operators throughout the assigned territory.
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and customer engagement.
- Provide technical sales support and drilling fluid recommendations for mining, water well, PFAS remediation, infrastructure, and construction drilling applications.
- Deliver field support, troubleshoot drilling fluid performance, and recommend solutions to optimize customer operations.
- Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations, technical training, and field evaluations to promote safe and effective product application.
- Prepare technical reports, drilling fluid recommendations, and operational updates for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with operations, technical services, and distributors to ensure timely product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Represent Baroid at industry trade shows, customer events, and technical education programs.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies, MSHA requirements, customer site‑specific standards, and driving policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Experience in technical sales, business development, or field support within the mining, drilling, construction, environmental, or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of drilling operations, drilling fluids, solids control, or related industrial products.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and prepare technical reports.
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 75%), including overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain and maintain required MSHA and customer site‑specific safety certifications.
- Experience supporting mining exploration, dewatering, water well, PFAS remediation, or construction drilling operations.
- Knowledge of Baroid Industrial Drilling Products and drilling fluid applications.
- Experience working with drilling contractors, mine operators, distributors, or engineering firms.
- Experience delivering technical training, product demonstrations, or customer education programs.
