Position Overview
Pipeline Facilities Operator supports Suncor Energy USA Pipelines team by safely operating and maintaining equipment to ensure optimum reliability and availability of our assets.
Location:
Fort Lupton, Colorado.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000.
Annual incentive bonus program with a 20% target, 401(k) plan with up to a 6% vested match, pre‑tax, Roth and post‑tax options, 1.5% profit sharing, and a Suncor-funded cash balance defined benefit pension plan.

- Internal mobility, succession planning, and employee training and development programs
- Inspect, maintain, and operate facilities including pipelines, valves, filters, pumps, gas compressors, storage tanks, and pump station equipment reliably and efficiently while complying with procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately complete all assigned required regulatory DOT and CDPHE reports.
- Perform safety checks and inspections, report incidents, and follow up as required.
- Serve as a first responder to pipeline emergencies and account for people in the area.
- Understand and participate in procedures and programs intended for personal and pipeline safety.
- Perform rotating equipment, electrical, instrumentation, and PLC maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- 3 years of field experience with PHMSA and DOT requirements for pipeline operations and maintenance.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and hands‑on experience with communication and control systems, digital and analog circuitry, pumps, motors, valves, and medium‑voltage equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and electronic drawings, including schematics, P&IDs, ladder logic diagrams, and one‑line diagrams.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC and control systems preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.A.
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract and ability to travel to field locations as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications for operator qualifications, safety, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, use ladders, and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including confined spaces.
- Pre‑employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre‑employment assessments required;
