Purpose
As the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and operations. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making and financial planning, working closely with ownership and senior management to drive the company’s success.
Primary FunctionsIn general, but not limited to:
- Oversee all aspects of the organization’s financial function, including managing budgets, monitoring cash flow, optimizing capital structure, and ensuring effective utilization of financial resources.
- Work closely with senior management and ownership to ensure financial plans and strategies align with the organization’s goals.
- Evaluate and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular financial analyses to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities that could impact the organization.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, advising management on potential impacts and opportunities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (10 years) in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve goals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Applicant must reside in Fort McMurray.
Pension: Pension after 1 year
