Keyano Financial Services Department is currently seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Director, Financial Services, the Manager, Financial Reporting provides strategic leadership and expertise in financial reporting, accounting standards, internal controls, and financial compliance. The role oversees the preparation of the College's financial statements, coordinates year-end reporting, serves as a liaison with external auditors and the College's investment manager, oversees corporate and student accounts receivable, and leads cash planning and internal control activities.

As a member of the Financial Services Client Services Leadership Team, the Manager provides budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial advisory support to assigned departments and divisions.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Director, Financial Services and leadership team to develop and execute the department's vision, strategic priorities, and initiatives, supporting the College's mandate and achievement of Investment Management Agreement targets.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance measures, and service standards; monitor results, communicate expectations, and drive accountability for outcomes.
  • Direct the preparation, review, and control of internal and external financial reporting, including annual consolidated financial statements, year-end processes, and compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and sector reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with government ministries and agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and sector-wide financial reporting standards.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance on accounting standards, financial reporting, internal controls, financial policies, procedures, and business processes.
  • Deliver budgeting, forecasting, accounting, treasury, and financial advisory services to assigned departments and divisions as a member of the Financial Services Client Services Leadership Team.
  • Lead the review, evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate financial systems, including business process automation initiatives in collaboration with Information Technology.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental plans, policies, procedures, standards, and operational practices that support organizational objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with applicable accounting standards, legislation, regulations, and requirements related to financial reporting, investments, treasury, and budgeting.
  • Prepare and present analysis, reports, recommendations, and briefing materials to the Director, senior leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Senior Accountant and budgeting and treasury functions, ensuring effective service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, coaching, employee development, health and safety, labour relations, and collective agreement administration.
