Environmental Student at Canadian Natural

Advance your environmental career with Canadian Natural as an Environmental Student at the Albian Oil Sands Site in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Focus on surface and groundwater sampling while working with esteemed professionals in a meaningful role.

This 8-month term position is suited for third or fourth-year undergraduate students, or master's candidates, specializing in Biology, Natural Sciences, or Environmental Studies. You'll conduct field measurements, collect water samples, and assist the environment team with diverse assignments. Expect a shift schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off, allowing for a balanced work-life experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect surface and groundwater samples following QA/QC protocols

• Conduct water quality testing, including pH and turbidity

• Prepare and document sample collection efficiently

• Assist with environmental inspections and wetland monitoring

• Carry out an assigned environmental project and present findings

Requirements:

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or master's program in relevant fields

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Capability to manage physically demanding fieldwork

• Previous environmental field experience is an asset

• Database skills are preferred
