Job Summary
The Scaffold and Insulation Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing scaffolding and insulation activities to support safe, efficient, and compliant execution of maintenance, turnaround, and capital projects. The role ensures scaffolding and insulation work meets safety standards, quality requirements, and project schedules while coordinating with multiple disciplines and contractors.
Key Responsibilities Scaffolding Coordination- Plan and coordinate contractor for scaffolding to support construction, maintenance, and inspection work
- Review scaffold requests and prioritize based on work scope and critical path
- Ensure scaffolds are designed, erected, modified, and dismantled in accordance with site standards and regulations. Assure efficiency of design and build.
- Verify scaffold tagging, inspections, and load ratings are completed and maintained
- Coordinate scaffold access requirements with operations, maintenance, and contractors
- Coordinate contractor for insulation installation, removal, and reinstatement activities
- Ensure insulation materials and systems meet project and specification requirements
- Plan insulation work to support inspection, maintenance, and corrosion protection activities
- Coordinate insulation removal for inspection (e.g., CUI programs) and reinstatement following work completion
- Enforce site safety rules and permit requirements
- Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and toolbox talks
- Monitor field activities to ensure safe work practices
- Stop work and elevate safety concerns as required
- Ensure work complies with project specifications, codes, and standards
- Verify proper installation methods and workmanship
- Coordinate inspections and close-out of punch list items
- Monitor progress against schedule and report delays or constraints
- Coordinate manpower and equipment to meet project milestones
- Assist with tracking quantities, work progress, and cost impacts
- Act as primary interface between scaffold and insulation contractors, operations, and other disciplines
- Attend coordination and planning meetings
- Provide daily status updates and progress reports
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)
- Minimum 5–10 years experience in industrial scaffolding and/or insulation coordination
- Experience in refinery, petrochemical, power, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems and insulation materials
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and permit-to-work systems
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and work packages
- SAP and Microsoft office experience
- Confined Space, Fall Protection and Elevated Work Platform Training
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Effective communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Proactive and safety-focused mindset
- Field-based role in industrial environments
- 14 on, 14 off, 12 hour dayshift rotation
- Extended shifts or night shifts during shutdowns/turnarounds
- Exposure to heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
